Data recovery tools are quite useful when you accidentally delete something or when a data loss accident occurs. When you want data to be completely gone, data recovery tools are a big pain. You don’t have to worry about HDShredder’s system requirements. If your PC runs Windows properly, it will run HDShredder without any problems. You won’t have any problems getting HDShredder Free Edition up and running on your Windows PC.

Two deletion modes are displayed on the application’s interface: Drive and Partition. The thing is that only the Drive deletion mode is available in HDShredder Free Edition. The Partition deletion mode is not offered by HDShredder Free Edition.

After you select the Drive deletion method, you will be presented with a list of detected drives. It must be mentioned here that HDShredder will detect internal HDDs, external HDDs, memory sticks, USB keys, and other storage devices.

After you select the drive you want to delete, you will have to pick a deletion method. Once again, I have to tell you that HDShredder Free Edition does not allow you to access all deletion methods; it provides access to a limited number of deletion methods.

After you pick a deletion method you will be presented with a few options and then you will be invited to start the process of securely deleting the entire HDD or other storage device.

Using HDShredder Free Edition is a very simple matter. The interface will take you step by step through all the steps I presented above.

Several HDShredder editions are available: Free, Basic, Standard, Professional, and Enterprise Edition. As expected, HDShredder Free Edition has the least amount of features to offer. Please note that HDShredder Free edition is free for private, personal use.
